Our Mascot Vladimir the Silver Back Gorilla

Kappa Lambda Beta was founded in 1963 by Bill Albrecht, John Thurlacker, Mark Thorkelson, Paul Juska, Doug DeWitt, Sheldon Busse, Ted Bipala, Don Rontala, Barry Timm, Tom Greg, Dick Sajog, Bill Weisner, and Larry Severson.  They began with the principles of F.U.B.A.R. (Friendship, Understanding, Brotherhood, Academics, Recognition).
In 1965 we changed our name to Kappa Lambda Beta.  We stand for Knowledge, Leadership, and Brotherhood, while keeping the concepts of F.U.B.A.R.  At this time we became recognized by Stout State University.  In the first Homecoming we participated in we won the most beautiful float award.
In 1992 the members of Kappa Lambda Beta invited their little sisters to become full members of the organization.  To this day KLB is the only coed social fraternity in the University of Wisconsin system.  We are recognized on campus for diversity, sociability, and academic success.  Most importantly we are recognized for our fraternal brotherhood and sisterhood, our green and white colors, and our mascot Vladimir the silver back gorilla.
